FAQ

See some common questions and answers below.

  • How long do sessions last?

1 to 1 sessions are a minimum of 45 minutes however there is no limit to how long the sessions can last. I would recommend a 1 hour session.

  • What areas do you cover?

I can cover any area in London and also have access to tables at my local club, Suburb TTC NW11 6PB or you can book tables at local sports centres. I can also run sessions at your home if you have a table and space.

  • How much do you charge?

My session price starts at £40 per hour for 1 to 1 sessions. Duo and group sessions are also available. For schools and other groups please contact me to discuss.

  • Do I need to provide my own bat?

It helps if you have your own but I can loan you a bat for initial sessions. As you progress and develop I can help you choose a bat that’s right for your playing style, level and budget.

  • How many lessons do I have to book?

As many as you like, the more you book, the cheaper the cost per session. Why not book one to start with to see if you like it before committing to more.

  • What does a typical lesson consist of?

My lessons are based on the specific areas you want to work on. For complete beginners I can take you through all the basic strokes - forehand and backhand - push, drive and topspins and how to link them together and develop a game, as well as looking at serving and service returns, a big part of the game. I also use multi ball exercises too, giving you the opportunity to hit a large number of balls with the correct technique which develops muscle memory and improves your strokes quickly.

  • What Table Tennis qualifications do you have?

I am Table Tennis England/UKCC Level 1 Coach. Table Tennis England is the sports National Governing Body that oversees all table tennis in England.

  • Are you DBS cleared to work with children?

Yes I have a current up to date Disclosure Barring System clearance. I also have a Child Safeguarding Certificate and First Aid certificate. I also have £5m Public and Professional Liabilty Insurance.
